269 new charities registered in June 2015

June saw the ACNC register 269 new charities, 9 more than in May.

This included the Luke Batty Foundation, founded by 2015 Australian of the Year, Rosie Batty.

The new charities will be helping communities all around Australia, with charities being set up in every state and territory. Most are from News South Wales and Victoria.

All the charities will have a free public web presence on the ACNC Charity Register at acnc.gov.au/findacharity, where members of the public can learn about their charity’s purpose and beneficiaries before donating.

Charities are encouraged to keep their details up-to-date so the public have access to accurate information.
