Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
MCMC organised 39 hands-on community events including weed management, harvesting of seed,, plantings, ecological surveys, and burning grasslands with Wurundjeri Traditional owners. Over 1490 hours were contributed to restoring and monitoring the Merri Creek environs by 528 community, student and corporate volunteers. 320 people attended planting events, 117 people helped with community weeding and 33 people participated in surveys for Golden Sun Moth and Yam Daisy. Staff group from 5 corporate organisations volunteered 171 hours to restoration works and 52 people attended presentations, training workshops and other engagement events.
