Description of charity's activities and outcomes
The Foundation provides funding for projects, ancillary equipment and services, training, innovative research and educational opportunities for our medical professionals particularly relevant to North Queensland and to the needs of our region.Projects funded are aimed to provide an additional layer of patient, staff and visitor comfort with the extras that make a difference. We are proud that 100% of all funds raised through the generosity of the community and some commercial streams are applied to its funding targets for the benefit of our health service.In this current year, The Townsville Hospital Foundation continued to raise funds for the redevelopment of the Childrens Ward. This is a 5 year project that we have focussed our attention to bring about enormous benefit to the children of our region, who for whatever reason we find in our care.It is through the generosity of many individuals, businesses and community groups that we are able to assist the hospital in its patient care and lifesaving work. Funds raised to date for this project exceed $1 million.
