Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
In late 2012, WCS hosted meetings with key NSW homelessness sector representatives, including DV NSW and Mission Australia, and received a positive response and support for our work to establish new women's shelters. In 2013, WCS commenced operations in earnest, with a new Chief Executive Officer appointed in February 2013. The CEO has implemented a capacity building approach to work with local communities to establish their need for women's shelters, with a view to having a network of up to 10 new shelters in the next five years.
