Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
Burnet Institute undertook substantial medical research, public health and international health programs focused on achieving better health for poor and vulnerable communities in Australia and overseas. The focus of the work was in the area of infectious diseases such as HIV, malaria, tuberculosis, hepatitis viruses, and influenza. In addition, programs also focused on women's and children's heath; the health of young people; alcohol, drugs and harms reduction; sexual and reproductive health; immunity, vaccines and immunisation.
