Description of charity's activities and outcomes
Anglican Overseas Aid continued to implement its mandate as a professional international development agency, working to overcome poverty and injustice and respond to disasters and emergencies.In 2015/16 we supported 10 partners across Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Pacific, to implement projects in 9 countries. These projects ranged across broad areas including HIV/AIDS awareness and community care, solar lighting, breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, promoting the elimination of Gender Based Violence.We also supported a number of emergency appeals including Cyclone Winston in Fiji; floods in Sri Lanka; flooding in Myanmar from Cyclone Komen; droughts in Ethiopia; rebuilding in Nepal after earthquakes; famine and conflicy in South Sudan; conflicts in Syria and Northern Iraq.
