Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
RSPCA Qld re-homes and reunites more animals than any other welfare organisation in the southern hemisphere. To achieve this goal we are working on many fronts: rehabilitating more animals with veterinary and behavioural issues, lessening the time they spend in our shelters, developing strategies to connect pets and owners more easily, improving behaviour and developing new ways to promote our adoptions During 2014-2015 44,965 animals came into our care. We also increased the number of wildlife patients cared for to 18,413 In the area of influence, we have been increasing community support and growing our supporter base. To reduce animal surrender rates we have expanded targeted de-sexing campaigns and animal training curriculum. Our commitment is to save lives. During 2014-2015 a significant 28,875 animal rescue calls were attended as well as 18,499 animal cruelty complaints being investigated. A total of 317,547 calls were answered by our call centre. For the 2014/2015 year our live release rate finished at 87% with 14,589 animals returned to their owners through our lost and found service.
