Description of charity's activities and outcomes
Our activities are in two directions: firstly raising and maintaining the real value of our funds, and secondly using the monies for funding research into the biology and cultivation of the Australian flora. Full details can be found on the website first has involved promotion of the Foundation with the Ecological Society of Australia and the Australian Plants Society. A financial subcommittee advises on investments.The second involves annual decisions making on the priority for the next years grants. Then a Call for Applications is sent to currently 66 Australian institutions conducting research on Australian Plants. Approximately 20 preliminary applications are received, and short-listed to about 6 which most closely meet the priorities of the Foundation. These are sent to our Scientific Committee, composed of five outstanding scientists working on Australian Plants. Their recommendations form the basis for the final grant awards. The outcomes of the research are given in final reports, which are posted on the website, and in publications in scientific journals, abstracts of which are published on the website.Annual reports can be found at
