Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
Blind Citizens WA employed an Admin / Advocacy Officer part-time to support members and others who are blind or vision impaired in WA to advocate for themselves and others and to share information of relevance to people who are blind or vision impaired in WA. Blind Citizens WA also held our annual state forum - an opportunity for members to participate in workshops such as gardening and aromatherapy and to catch up with friends and peers - and four general meetings with speakers. We continued to produce our seasonal audio magazine Consumer Voice and maintain an active Facebook group. We organised social events such as our Christmas Party and monthly swish (a form of table tennis) afternoons. We also made a small contribution towards the cost of WA students attending a Braille music camp interstate.
