Provide further details of the charity's international activities:
Across Africa, Asia and the Pacific, TEAR Australia enables people to overcome poverty by equipping them to lead their own development initiatives. We do this in partnership with local Christian development organisations, supporting them as they walk alongside the poorest and most marginalised people in their communities.
Description of charity's activities and outcomes:
Through the work of local partners, TEAR Australia is able to provide long-term sustainable development in poor communities around the world. Often this work is in difficult and challenging environments where vulnerable people may feel neglected or forgotten. TEAR supports projects that meet the particular needs of these communities such as food security, water and sanitation, basic health and education, and disaster relief and recovery. For example, TEAR’s partner, Shanti Nepal is helping to build strong communities in remote areas of Nepal through improved sanitation and health training.
