Anglican Overseas Aid is an overseas relief and development agency of the Anglican Church of Australia. We work with Anglican and like-minded agencies to create and strengthen partnerships in developing countries to overcome poverty, injustice and disaster. We support our partners to assist marginalised communities to take control of their own lives and promote community well-being.
While we work mainly with Anglican organisations, all our work is carried out on a non-discriminatory basis for the benefit of all.

Description of charity's activities and outcomes:
Anglican Overseas Aid continued to implement its mandate as a professional international development agency, working to overcome poverty, injustice and disaster. In 2016/2017, we supported 12 partners across Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific to implement 14 community development projects in nine countries. The projects ranged across broad areas of health, self-reliance, safe communities and disaster risk reduction. We know that the people in the best position to make a difference are those who live and work in a community or are closely connected to them. This is why we work with partners who are part of their communities - they are trusted, share the everyday challenges of the people they work to support, and are in a position to reach the most neglected and vulnerable. They are committed to supporting communities to engage in and influence their own development. We also responded to a number of emergency appeals including the East Africa Food Crisis supporting communities in South Sudan, Kenya and Ethiopia; Tropical Cyclone Donna in Vanuatu; and conflicts in Syria and Northern Iraq.
