Description of charity's activities and outcomes
1. We organised monthly workshops for the general public, where guest speakers presented on topics related to the environment, sustainability or healthy living (11 events, approx 25 people each time, total 300 people). 2. We organised many events where the community was invited to participate. 14 tree plantings, 3 clean up events, 18 talks, 15 school or uni events, 5 tours. Total of 524 events with 1600 people.3. On a weekly basis, we offer opportunities for people to volunteer in our community nursery, community garden or in the field, to learn more about plants and looking after the environment. Approximately 20 people weekly.4. We host volunteers from universities and employment agencies, to assist them in learning new skills that can be used now and in the future (approx 50 people per year).5. The 24 bushcare groups in our catchment look after various area of Council bushland, with approximately 200 volunteers participating each month.6. We work on rehabilitation projects (weed control and revegetation) to assist with the improvement of natural areas and research projects focussing on water quality issues.7. We provide training opportunities for volunteers and staff to improve their skills and report to the organization about their learnings.
