CLEAN UP ACTION:
- 10.44% increase in registered clean up sites
- 1.67% increase in community locations
- 17.69% increase in youth
- 21.45% increase in schools [bringing us back in line with 2016 participation]
- 12.19% increase in business
- 23.61% increase in estimated number of volunteers
- 7.26% increase in QLD sites [our state of focus for 2018] – with a record 322 locations across the Brisbane Council area [the highest total since the floods of 2012] and 143 across the Gold Coast region [in response to our joint call with Mayor Tate to clean up in preparation for the Commonwealth Games
- 177 participating councils – a 10.62% increase on 2017
- 6.43% increase in community site supervisor participation within the 19-35 age group
- 537 McDonald's sites across the nation
PROMOTIONAL REACH ASSOCIATED WITH CLEAN UP ACTION:
- Total editorial of 22,736 mentions
- 648,327 Facebook impressions with 14,159 engagements and an 8.7% increase in our fans; 3.3% growth in Twitter followers with measured reach of 236,661; 10,600 Instagram likes with 2,600 followers + 92% boost in Linkedin connections
- Website sessions increased by 11.1%; with 119,991 users - an increase of 14.7%
- Coles in-store promotions and registration of 34 locations
ADVOCACY OUTCOMES:
- Coles Bags Schools Competition to assist introduction of reusable bags following national single use plastic bag ban
- engaged and supported retailers in their own single use plastic bag replacement campaigns
- supported communities during the roll-out of a container refund scheme in NSW
- worked alongside communities for the introduction of of a container refund scheme in Queensland
