Provide further details of the charity's international activities
Transferring funds to our partner organisation, Yotkom Uganda, a company limited by guarantee, registered as a NGO in Uganda. Working together with this organisation to deliver primary health care services to Northern Uganda. This includes the operation of an outpatient department and hospital in Kitgum, Northern Uganda. The local entity employs over 60 Ugandan health and support staff, seeing over 15, 000 outpatients per year. We deal with a wide range of medical , surgical, orthopaedic and mental health presentations. We are involved in preventive health education in the community. We partner together with the local community and seek to establish a self reliant non for profit health centre serving a resource poor setting .
Description of charity's activities and outcomes
1. We employ over 60 Ugandan health and support workers to deliver medical care to the community
2. Our outpatient department has over 15,000 attendances per year .
3. On average we have 10 inpatients admitted to our facility to provide more intensive health care
4. Our charity provides diagnostic services in the form of Xray and Ultrasound and Laboratory services to the community
5. We undertake health and education services
6. We have constructed buildings on our site for hospital services, employing local builders
7. We have successfully raised funds in Australia from donors to achieve these goals
8. We are striving to develop in country income generating projects in order to supplement our income and provide better access health care through lower fees.
One way this is developing is through the purchase of farming land and the establishment of a tree plantation
