Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
Here is a selection of projects refer also to the 2015 Annual Report ( for India ProjectThe Charasada area of Rajasthan suffers from recurrent drought and acute water scarcity, compounded by high salinity and fluorosis levels in the ground water. The limited water is undrinkable by people and livestock, nor is it usable for irrigation. Meal-a-Days funding, working alongside 146 households with 872 people, has enabled desperately needed safe drinking water in the homes. 30 tanks were completed this third year, totally 65 tanks to-date.TIMOR LESTE: Home Nutrition Garden Training This program empowers community groups and households to address acute malnutrition. This has been achieved by providing health education, high quality horticulture training and assisting groups to implement their own community garden of nutritious vegetables, ensuring food security, improved health and a supplemented household income through the sale of extra produce. In 2015, 77 people from 12 households in the Cota-hue village in Emera were positively influenced by the program.PHILIPPINES: Improved sanitation for Typhoon Haiyan-damaged communitiesWorking through a delivery partner - Green Empowerment - Meal-a-Day helped improve sanitation in Lanawan, including the construction of household toilets.
