Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
Chris OBrien Lifehouse is Australias only not-for-profit, independent, private comprehensive cancer centre. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for cancer patients, carers and their families by advancing the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of the disease. Chris OBrien Lifehouse is a fully operational cancer hospital treating both private and public patients from our local area, other parts of Sydney and NSW, and across Australia. It provides rapid access clinics, outpatient clinics, chemotherapy, radiation oncology, day surgery, complex oncology surgery and inpatient wards. In addition, a full suite of complementary therapies are provided at Chris OBrien Lifehouse to help and support patients during their diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.As a comprehensive cancer hospital dedicated to transforming cancer care, Chris OBrien Lifehouse conducts or participates in research across a range of disciplines including medical physics, radiobiology, radiation oncology, gynaecological oncology, medical oncology, surgery, psycho-oncology and supportive care. Our research activities are closely linked to (and often embedded in) the clinical care that we provide.
