Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
We currently assist six of the most disadvantaged families from Taksenkangbloung village (population 350) in Cambodia in our core program. We have already assisted in excess of 30 families through basic sanitation and first aid training, provision of clothing and food supplies, and English classes. The aim is to create a sense of community and a community hub which has so far been a success with up to 80 people attending English classes every day. We educate members of the village about the importance of sanitation and nutrition. We also provide a first aid kit and have trained members of the community in how to apply basic first aid. We facilitate disadvantaged children attending the local primary school by providing food, clothing, transport, basic health care and out of hours supplementary tuition. We welcome and encourage all members of the community to use our centre. Children of all ages can come and play with toys, games and sporting equipment. Children and adults not included in the core program are provided with free English lessons on a daily basis. We currently employ five staff member from the local area.
