Description of charity's activities and outcomes
- Increased youth and business participation in Clean Up Day by 15 and 20% - Increased participation in the Great Northern Clean Up by 16% and everyday locations by 5%- Increased general donations by 35%- Participated in state government committees to influence the adoption of a container refund scheme in Queensland and the implementation of the NSW scheme- Partnered with a major media program to reinvigorate the debate about banning lightweight plastic bags - resulting in the announcement by major supermarkets to roll out their ban nationally July 2018- Supported state based retailers in their journey to reduce plastic rubbish resulting from their packaging options- Supported local community groups in their efforts to reduce the rubbish generated by local, state and national retailers- Attracted 157% increase of in-kind support/sponsorship for the 2017 Clean Up Day campaign - extending our reach and support into new networks- Supported more than 150 students in their assignment/project research of specific rubbish related issues- Successfully renewed all funding partnership and attracted two new partnerships allowing expansion of community support
