Description of charity’s activities and outcomes:
Issues of GLBTIQ discrimination, disadvantage and need are little addressed by other philanthropic organisations. GALFA is a national, volunteer run organisation that raises funds and supports underfunded and important GLBTIQ projects that make a difference in our community. We network and collaboratively fund with main-stream philanthropic funds to leverage your donation and raise awareness amongst philanthropy of GLBTIQ issues. The Sidney Myer Fund, Lord Mayors Charitable Foundation and Australian Communities Foundation co-fund projects with GALFA Current priority areas for GALFA are GLBTIQ healthy ageing and GLBTIQ homelessness. A recent significant donation has added GLBTIQ people with disability as a new project area. Further details on past and current projects can be found at www.galfs.org.au
