Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
RSPCA Qld re-homes and reunites more animals than any other welfare organisation in the southern hemisphere. To achieve this goal we are working on many fronts: rehabilitating more animals with veterinary and behavioural issues, lessening the time they spend in our shelters, developing strategies to connect pets and owners more easily, improving behaviour and developing new ways to promote our adoptions During 2013-2014 44,639 animals came into our care. In the area of influence, we have been increasing community support and growing our supporter base. To reduce animal surrender rates we have begun targeted de-sexing campaigns and launched a new animal training curriculum. Our commitment is to save lives. During 2013-2014 a significant 27,517 animal rescue calls were attended as well as 18,332 animal cruelty complaints being investigated. For the 2013/2014 year our live release rate finished at 83% with 12,904 animals returned to their owners.
