Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
As set out in Theatre Network's Rules of Association, the purposes of the association are:Theatre Network Victoria is a Victorian-based organisation, working nationally, to lead, strengthen and support the professional, non-profit theatre industry, by building capacity in the small to medium and independent sectors, and connecting and working with the major companies. In 2015 there were several highlights of the program designed to deliver the key goals of Leadership, Connection, Voice and Knowledge. The first of these was the Australian Theatre Forum held at Seymour Centre in Sydney alongside the Sydney Festival, where over 320 theatre professionals gathered to connect and discuss current issues and innovations in the sector. TNV also produced an annual Victorian Theatre Forum at Malthouse Theatre for 150 members and co-produced the Annual Touring Workshop with Regional Arts Victoria and the Victorian Association of Performing Arts Centres. A significant portion of TNV's time and resources was also spent working on advocacy for the sector through the national Free The Arts campaign. This work supported our goal of leading the sector and giving artists a voice. We strengthened national relationships and grew our supporter base leading into 2016 membership. We continued to connect with our members and associated artists with monthly E-Newsletters and special bulletins.
