Description of charity's activities and outcomes
Since being founded, KidzWish has raised the awareness of just how many of our Illawarra & South Coast children require assistance at some stage of their life. With that in mind we are now moving towards providing more support for children and their families. Through research we have developed our programs to now include: Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, an Appeals Program, Music and Dance Program, Sports Academy Program Childrens Experiences and the annual KidzWish Childrens Christmas Party. The charity is now a registered NDIS Service Provider. Since the beginning of KidzWish, the amount of community involvement has also grown and continues to grow each year. Not only has our annual Childrens Christmas Party become bigger and better, but we are also able to give back more and more to our community. By the end of 2016, we expect to have helped over 500 children and over 130 different conditions supported, which grows daily. Additionally 4,300 children and carers experienced the KidzWish Childrens Christmas Party in November. Because of this we are in desperate need of a new, updated premises so we can meet the needs of the children we support. The next 12 months we aim to build a new and improved KidzWish Place so we can double the number of children that we support. We will continue to advocate for the children of our region where the KidzWish brand represents a caring side to the Illawarra with an important message of KidzWish will never let our children walk alone. We have a wonderful partnership with Insight Charity Fundraising Services who not only fundraise on our behalf but are also great supporters of the charity and provide us with feedback from the clients that they contact which further enables us to develop strategies for the future. KidzWish held various successful fundraising events throughout the year. Our major events included: the KidzWish Charity Ball Dinner, KidzWish Day, Bowls Day, Bridge2Bridge Walk and Motorcycle Charity Ride. KidzWish thank our 3 small committees attached to help enhance a smooth running to our daily operations. These include: the KidzWish Board of Directors, The Appeals Committee (this committee is in charge of all incoming appeal requests) and Volunteers Committee KidzWish will continue to aim to raise awareness, educate and seek support from local communities, businesses and public sectors.
