Description of charity's activities and outcomes
Staff, volunteers and the board of management of the Katharine Susannah Prichard Foundation Inc ran a comprehensive and affordable literary program for the community at the KSP Writers' Centre. This included workshops, author talks, in-term youth classes (including one dedicated to home-schooled children), 12 adult writing groups, library visits, open days, school holiday workshops, writing competitions, mentorships, book launches, poetry readings at local medical centres as part of the new Hospital Poets program, and publication of anthologies. In addition, the team maintained the heritage grounds and offered guided tours. The Centre was also host to over 55 volunteers and interns, and over 30 visiting Writers-in-Residence who provided help to members and progressed their own manuscripts. All of these programs and activities adhere to the Foundation's objectives of promoting Katharine's legacy and teaching the craft of literature.
