Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
Disability Advocacy and Complaints Service of South Australia Inc (DACSSA) We are building on the foundation created since theinception of DACSSA as we continue to find new waysto assist our clients in South Australia through provid-ing support so they may engage with the services theyneed. We will expand our efforts to increase knowledge andunderstanding of disability and raise the profile ofDACSSA Services among our key stakeholders and thegeneral public. It is imperative that we purposefully engage clients, families, management, our staff and stakeholdersthrough our various communication and marketinginitiatives. This year, similar to previous years, paralegal, educa-tion and mental health issues are more prevalent thanany other issues for clients accessing the services ofDACSSA. We have ventured into areas that tradition-ally were not quite as prominent as they could be,such as prioritising working with Aboriginal Communi-ties across the state. We have run major events in conjunction withVictimSupport Services, Dignity for Disability(D4D) and theAdelaide City Council, with more to follow in the yearto come. Our advocates have not only remained on track withtheir core work but have also presented to numerousorganisations and helped facilitate the many changesrequired to ensure our organisation was accredited.
