Description of charity's activities and outcomes
We currently assist some of the most disadvantaged children from Taksenkangbloung village (population 350) in Cambodia in our core program. We have already assisted more than 30 families through basic sanitation and first aid training, provision of food and clothing, and English classes. There are currently 19 children in our core program with a focus on literacy and computer skills through the assistance of incentives that have been introduced. The aim has been to create a sense of community and a community hub which has been a success with up to 80 people attending English classes every day. We educate members of the village about the importance of sanitation and nutrition. We also provide a first aid kit and have trained members of the local community in how to apply basic first aid. We facilitate basic health care and out of hours supplementary tuition. We welcome and encourage all members of the community to use our centre. Children of all ages can come and play with toys, games and sporting equipment. Children and adults not included in the core program are provided with free English lessons on a daily basis. We currently employ 3 staff members from the local area.
