Description of charity's activities and outcomes
The National ELT (English Language Teaching) Accreditation Scheme Ltd (NEAS) is a not-for-profit organisation registered with the Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission. Governed by a Board of Directors with extensive experience in accreditation and quality assurance in international education, NEAS provides independent quality assurance to all education sectors.NEAS Ltd was established in 1990 in conjunction with the Commonwealth Government, in response to calls for better regulation and risk management to protect international student interests in English Language Teaching delivery. NEAS remit is to be an independent quality assurance body for the entire international education sector in Australia, safeguarding the interests of all students, including international, domestic migrants and refugees studying English in Australia through a tightly controlled monitoring framework.NEAS endorses education for international students in universities, colleges and high schools. These centres may be stand-alone institutions or may be operated by providers that are also registered training organisations, registered higher education providers and / or registered schools. Endorsed organisations are granted the NEAS quality mark, internationally recognised and valued by students, teachers, agents and governments.
