Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
As set out in Theatre Network's Rules of Association, the purposes of the association are:Theatre Network Victoria is a Victorian-based organisation, working nationally, to lead, strengthen and support the professional, non-profit theatre industry, by building capacity in the small to medium and independent sectors, and connecting and working with the major companies. In 2014 there were several highlights of the program designed to deliver the key goals of Leadership, Connection, Voice and Knowledge. The first of these was the Victorian Theatre Forum held at Melbourne Theatre Company, where over 100 theatre professional gathered to connect and discuss current issues and innovations in the sector. TNV also co-produced the very successful Annual Touring Workshop with Regional Arts Victoria and the Victorian Association of Performing Arts Centres, which is growing each year and becoming more tailored to the needs of the sector. This model of a workshop run by the three key service organisations for performing arts has the potential to be rolled out in other states and territories. A significant portion of TNV's time and resources was also spent working on the January 2015 delivery of the biennial Australian theatre Forum, curated by David Williams and held in Sydney during the Sydney Festival in 2015. By the end of 2014, ATF had sold out, with over 320 registered delegates and 80 speakers. We continued to connect with our members and associated artists with monthly e-news bulletins, share knowledge at our Peer Learning Circle for General Managers and Executive Producers, and act as a voice for the small to medium sector at meetings with key government ministers and funding representatives. Our 2014 Annual report details the many successes of Theatre Network Victoria across the year, and we continue to implement these goals in 2015.
