Description of charity's activities and outcomes:
RSPCA Qld re-homes and reunites more animals than any other welfare organisation in the southern hemisphere. To achieve this goal we are working on many fronts: rehabilitating more animals with veterinary and behavioural issues, lessening the time they spend in our shelters, developing strategies to connect pets and owners more easily, improving behaviour and developing new ways to promote our adoptions During 2016-2017 53,746 animals came into our care. We also increased the number of wildlife patients cared for to 22,860. In the area of influence, we have been increasing community support and growing our supporter base. To reduce animal surrender rates we have expanded targeted de-sexing campaigns and animal training curriculum. Our commitment is to save lives. During 2016-2017 a significant 323,070 animal calls were attended as well as 18,068 animal cruelty complaints being investigated. For the 2016/2017 year our live release rate finished at 87% with 18,369 animals adopted and over 5,000 returned to their owners through our lost and found service
