WIRES , NSW Wildlife Information Rescue and Information Service has been rescuing and caring for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife for more than 30 years. In the last financial year WIRES has received more than 150,000 calls to our rescue line resulting in 80,000 animals being assisted . WIRES 28 branches and more than 2,500 volunteers service the community 365 days a year. Local fundraising efforts are focussed on providing animal food for rehabilitation and combined with support from WIRES we spent $251,129 on food for wildlife. In the last financial year we trained more than 785 people in rescue and immediate care of native animals and also 788 people in advanced species courses.
