Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
RSPCA NSW rescued, reunited, rehabilitated and rehomed 26,767 animals in the last financial year. The four vet hospitals treated over 45,000 animals. We investigated 14,517 cruelty cases and successfully prosecuted 70 cruelty offenders. We responded to 67,681 phone enquiries-23% of which were cruelty complaints. We ran remote clinics in regional Australia resulting in the de-sexing of 584 pets. We worked with at-risk communities and the socially isolated to help people care for their pets. We visited 855 schools and community groups to talk about pet safety and animal welfare. Our fundraising activities included the introduction of face-to-face fundraising as a way of acquiring more regular givers. All these activities successfully contributed to the reinforcement of our charity's purpose-the prevention of animal cruelty.
