Description of charity's activities and outcomes
The Sydney Buddhist Centre pursues it's aims through two venues: Sydney Buddhist Centre and Vijayaloka Retreat Centre. A the SBC, the charity conducts classes and courses in meditation and study of Buddhism. Classes include free drop-in classes for newcomers to meditation as well as regular meditation and discussion groups on a donation basis. Structured courses are both at introductory and further experienced levels, and have a fee charged at full and concession prices. Some of the activities are provided for trainees progressing toward ordination. At Vijayaloka Retreat Centre, the charitable association runs retreats over periods from weekends to three weeks in length, devoted to learning and practice in both meditation and Buddhism, as well as retreats for ordination trainees.

People accessing the facilities offered may fall into several of the categories listed but may not necessarily be directly targeted by the programs. For instance, disabled access is provided. There are also classes, courses and retreats for people in recovery from additions.
