Description of charity's activities and outcomes:
In our second year as a registered charity, Geomancia focused on building community capacity across NSW, particularly within the Landcare network. Geomancia delivered workshops on Landcare Action Planning and Stakeholder Mapping to Landcare coordinators on behalf of the Department of Primary Industries and Local Land Services. Training in Mapping for Landcare was also provided to the Fullerton Hadley Landcare Group as part of a project that included the creation of a spatial data library for their area of operations. Geomancia also worked with Local Land Services to facilitate a region-wide, web-based community mapping project that delineated the area of operations of all Landcare groups across South Eastern NSW. Geomancia provided business management, cartographic and desktop publishing support to Landcare NSW and LachLandcare Inc. Geomancia delivered grants under the Murray Darling Basin Regional Economic Diversification Program supported by the NSW Department of Industry: Building the digital economy in Dubbo, Bathurst and Forbes. These projects involved 7 workshops on Place-based Search and the Mobile Consumer, delivered to local businesses in 5 regional centres across Central Western NSW. Beyond our work with local business and the Landcare network, Geomancia collaborated with the Murrin Bridge Local Aboriginal Land Council to develop a number of projects and a suite of grant applications to build their organisational capacity and to support effective management of their real estate portfolio, including the recently acquired Barooga Karrai property in Central Western NSW.
