Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
Triratna Buddhist Community pursues its aims through two venues: Sydney Buddhist Centre and Vijayaloka Retreat Centre. At the SBC the charity conducts classes and courses in meditation and study of Buddhism, at various levels of experience. Classes include free drop-in classes for newcomers to meditation as well as regular meditation and discussion groups on a donation basis. Courses are both at introductory and further-experienced levels, and have a fee charged at full and concession prices. Some of these activities are provided for trainees progressing toward ordination. At Vijayaloka the charity runs retreats over periods from week-ends to three weeks in length, devoted to learning and practice in both meditation and Buddhism; and including retreats for ordination trainees.
