Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
Cat Protection operates a no-kill shelter for homeless cats, providing them with all necessary vet care including desexing and we care for them until they are adopted. We assist cats in the community via discount desexing & microchipping programs; education and information services; reuniting lost pets with their people; and contributing to policy development regarding feline welfare, for example through our participation on the NSW Responsible Pet Ownership Reference Group and local council animal advisory groups, and submissions to Parliament eg to the Joint Select Committee of Inquiry into Companion Animal Breeding Practices in NSW and the proposed Animal Welfare (Population Control Programs) Bill. We support research into feline health and welfare. We help to honour the human-feline bond through many activities including information and practical support, including assisting human services providers with cat-owning clients.
