Description of charity's activities and outcomes:
Education is at the core of everything we do. Our programs help girls to set goals, have a clear direction for where they want to go in the future, and develop the confidence to follow through with their plans. For girls in school, the career development portion of the program has helped them to make choices for a secondary school based on their passion or skill set (for example, enrolling in science classes if they wanted to be a nurse or doctor).
We also support Teachers through our OneGirl Teachers of Tomorrow program focussing on increasing the standards of teaching and helping more women become teachers and role models in the classroom. One of the teachers in this cohort was awarded the Dean’s Award for academic achievement.
We also run a Rights, Relationships and Respect program in partnership with Marie Stopes. A community-based program where men and women undertook intensive training to change the conversation around teen pregnancy, healthy relationships, and consent.
We run a Business Brains program that supports women with vocational training to start their own businesses.
