Description of charity's activities and outcomes
Social Interiors was created to address the gap in practical support services for young carers who take on the majority of care for the disabled or ill family member. In FY 16/17 our main focus was on establishing the necessary framework and administrative processes required to ensure we would be able to deliver services to young people and their families in FY17/18, and comply with charity regulations. We undertook an extensive Child Protection policy review and implemented new Safeguarding Children & Young People policies across the organisation, as well as updating all other governance and procedural policies.We had an early focus on submitting an application for deductible gift recipient status, which was successful and granted in March 2017. We launched our website in May 2017. We applied for several grants and held our first tax appeal raising funds to support our first clients in FY17/18.We attended networking meetings and met with other relevant services to establish relationships for referrals.
