Description of charity's activities and outcomes
Lymphoma Australia is the only charity in Australia solely dedicated to supporting Australians and their families after a lymphoma or CLL patients diagnosis. Lymphoma Australia was started by patients for patients and is providing support and information across Australia. Despite lymphoma being a common cancer many Australians have no idea of the signs and symptoms. Lymphoma Australia uses fundraising and awareness initiatives to help with an early diagnosis for this cancer. Accurate information is also critical in the lymphoma journey and to ensure this is available Lymphoma Australia provides the following ( free) to help patients, families, health professionals and other key stakeholders. Dedicated website, face to face education days, newsletters, closed FB groups, nurse hotline, support group meetings. Lymphoma Australia also advocates for access to new treatments for all Australians. In 2016 Lymphoma Australia started our Lymphoma Care Nurse project with the employment of 2 lymphoma nurses. Regardless of where you live our nurses will be there to help. We plan to appoint more nurses with the funds from our fundraising activities in 2017 and beyond.
