Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
Disability Advocacy and Complaints Service of South Australia Inc (DACSSA) Our key role is the provision of advocacy and information services for those in the disability community. We have been professionally audited and are accredited for the provision of airing and and resolution of disability based grievances in a manner that supports and encourages people with a disability and their associates and family members through the provision of individual and systemic advocacy services. We continue to work and provide presentations to the Aboriginal and Multicultural communities. We have have been on a numb er of radio programs promoting the work that we do and also highlighting the importance of the NDIS and presenting information about our organisation that will help community members to access information. We are working to strengthen partnerships with organisations like the Victim Support services and SA Carers and we continue to provide up to date information on our interactive website. We have run a major events in conjunction withVictimSupport Services, Dignity for Disability(D4D) to provide a Disability Pride march through Adelaide City Culminating with speeches on the steps of Parliament. We continue in our systemic work this year targeting areas such as transport and appropriate access to transport services.
