Description of the charities international activities
Our audiologist visits Bhutan to supply and fit hearing aids to deaf children. Our speech therapist and educator visit Bhutan to assist the Bhutanese department of education implement a system of teaching children the alphabet by phonetics. These programs have had to be suspended to the extent that we have been unable to visit Bhutan since the onset of the covid-19 pandemic.
Description of the charities activities and outcomes
We provide support to hearing-impaired children in Bhutan, assessing needs of these
children, supplying and fitting hearing aids, and monitoring their use, and we have
helped the Bhutanese Government modernise their pre-primary and primary education curriculum to include learning by phonetics which will directly improve the opportunity for hearing-impaired children to learn to speak, read and write.
