  • The PPF supports a plumbing/media team (under the age of 30 years) to improve sanitation in Nepal by working on sanitation construction projects with their Nepali counterparts. Skills and knowledge transfer are key to this process, with the media documentation contributing to an ever-evolving training and information resource about sanitation and hygiene.
Provide further details of the charity's international activities
Once a year a PPF Fellowship is offered to a small team of a plumber and media person from Australia, to work with a Nepali team on a community based sanitation project. The PPF team works on installing the plumbing infrastructure and documenting the process so that the information can be used to develop resource materials for further training. The PPF team is in country for 4 weeks. In March-April 2019 the PPF team worked on a community sanitation project in a village Buddhist stupa area, to build a toilet/shower block for the villagers, so they would have decent hygiene when gathering regularly for their religious observances and community events.
Description of charity's activities and outcomes
The plumbing/media team successfully installed plumbing infrastructure into a newly built toilet/shower block which had been requested by the local villager, to improve their sanitation in the area.
The team worked alongside the Nepali tradespeople every step of the way, sharing skills and knowledge.
Images and techniques summaries were provided, to become the foundation of the ongoing information and training resource materials.
