Description of charity’s activities and outcomes
The Mental Health Research Institute is a premier psychiatric research institute in Australia. Our researchers use laboratory and clinical research to understand the causes of psychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases, so they can be better diagnosed and treated. Ultimately, we hope to prevent such illnesses.The research focus remains as it was on psychiatric conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia and on neurodegenerative illnesses including dementias particularly Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.
