Description of charity's activities and outcomes
Women's Health Qld Wide (Women's Health) is a health promotion charity which has been operating in Queensland for over 30 years. Women's Health provision of information is independent and provides women with a range of care options in a holistic way that emphasizes the value of a woman's own experience.Women's Health is a free information and referral service for all Queensland women. The organisation's strategic plan is focused on supporting disadvantaged women by 1. Improving access to health support services for disadvantaged women 2. Increasing awareness and use of Women's Health support services for disadvantaged women and 3. Building a sustainable organisation through networks and partnerships; memberships, fundraising and donations. The client group are those women in rural and remote regions, DV, older women, Indigenous and CALD communities, and those in the low socio-economic range.The organisation obtains funds to provide necessary resources free of charge to disadvantaged women, including education talks, video conferencing and webinairs, a monthly health journal, brochures and booklets on various womens health needs.Key activities included the partnership with Playgroup Qld to reprint the 'Deadly Mums Guide' for Indigenous women in Qld; partnerships with several NFP organisations to deliver health talks including: Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation; Lung Foundation Australia; Guide Dogs Qld; QCWA; Breastscreen Qld.
