Description of charity's activities and outcomes:
In our third year as a registered charity, Geomancia focused on building community capacity across rural, regional and remote NSW. Geomancia delivered a free "Mapping for Landcare" seminar at Gundagai to introduce Landcare participants from Holbrook, Murrumbidgee, Riverina, Bland-Temora and Upper Lachlan to recent developments in online mapping and to demonstrate Geomancia's tablet-based field survey system. Two full-day workshops were also delivered on behalf of Murray Local Land Services, at Deniliquin and Albury, titled "Mapping for Land Managers." Evaluation reports documented the value of these workshops to participating Landcare, natural resource management and Indigenous organisations, with all respondents agreeing that the workshop contributed to the capacity of their organisation. Geomancia's productive partnership with the Murrin Bridge Local Aboriginal Land Council resulted in two successful grant applications: one from the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal to support the project "Land Skills Learning at Murrin Bridge in Central Western NSW"; and another from the NSW Environmental Trust's Protecting Our Places program to administer a three-year project, "Managing Biodiversity on Barooga Karrai".
