Welcome to the ACNC's 2018 Annual Information Statement (AIS) Hub. The Hub is where you will find all the information your registered charity needs to complete its AIS.
Charities have an ongoing obligation to report annually, and filling out their AIS is a key component of this obligation.
Information submitted through the AIS process also helps us build a greater understanding of the sector, contributes to improved charity transparency, and cuts red tape and duplicate reporting for the sector.
Charities can fill out and submit their 2018 AIS by logging into the ACNC Charity Portal. There they will be presented with the option to complete their AIS.
Support materials to help organisations complete their AIS include:
- The 2018 AIS Guide - containing detailed explanations on how to answer each question.
- The 2018 AIS Checklist - with information to ensure you have what you need on hand to correctly complete the 2018 AIS, as well as avoid common mistakes charities have made in previous years' AISs.
These resources can be accessed via the links on this page.
Navigating the new look 2018 Annual Information Statement form
Charities and regular visitors to the ACNC website will have noticed some big changes recently following a major upgrade to our website and online systems.
These upgrades include significant improvements to the ACNC website, and to the 2018 AIS form.
In the section below we will provide some basic tips on navigating through the new-look form. Click on any of the images below to view them in greater detail.
The new form is far more responsive than in previous years, with pages refreshing more quickly and improved navigation across and between pages.
Charities can navigate through the form by using the menu at the top.
By clicking on the dots which correspond to each section of the form, charities can quickly work through specific sections of the AIS, or easily find questions they wish to update or revise their response to.
Mandatory questions in the form are clearly marked with a red asterisk (*), with charities unable to progress further into the form before completing these mandatory questions.
Charities may also notice the order of questions in the 2018 AIS has changed.
This is to help improve the flow of the form, to group sets of questions together if they are based around similar themes, and to ensure charities will only see and answer the questions they need to.
Some questions in the form are based on conditional logic, and will appear or remain invisible depending on your responses to previous questions.
For example, the questions you will see in the 'People and Finances' section of the form will vary depending on the size of your charity (small, medium or large) and the amount of information we require from each.
The form will also regularly and reliably auto-save charities’ progress.
Alternatively, charities can manually save their progress at any time by clicking on the save button at the bottom of each page.
At the end of the 2018 form, you will be able to print out a preview of your responses to examine and review before submission.
Once you have submitted your form, you will receive a confirmation email and an opportunity to download a full version of your AIS for your charity to retain.
Please note that it might take a minute or two for the system to generate your preview and confirmation PDF documents. This is to ensure the documents you will receive are accurate and of the best quality possible. We thank you for your patience.
You can complete your 2018 AIS through the ACNC Charity Portal.
