alert icon ACNC Commissioner the Hon Dr Gary Johns has approved a recommendation that charities with Annual Information Statement due dates between 12 March 2020 and 30 August 2020 now have an extension until 31 August 2020.

This extension also includes bushfire-affected charities that had previously been granted an AIS submission extension to May.

The 2019 Annual Information Statement (AIS) Hub contains the information your registered charity needs to complete its AIS. Charities have an ongoing obligation to report annually, and filling out their AIS is a key component of this obligation.

The information that is submitted through the AIS process also helps the ACNC develop a greater understanding of the charity sector, contributes to improved charity transparency, and cuts red tape and duplicate reporting for the sector.

To fill out and submit your charity's 2019 AIS, log into the ACNC Charity Portal. Once you log in, you will be presented with the option to complete your charity's AIS.

We have also developed some support materials to help charities complete their AIS. They include:

Explanation of icons used in the 2019 AIS form

There are several specific icons used throughout the 2019 AIS form. The table below will explain what these icons mean and how you can interact with them.

A red asterisk next to any question means that it is mandatory for you to provide a response to the question.

If the search icon is shown next to an answer field, please click on it in order to verify your response.

Hovering over the question mark icon will display additional help text to assist you in answering questions correctly.

Clicking on either the 'Save' or 'Next' buttons at the bottom of each page will save your progress.

If you would like to preview and print your completed Annual Information Statement, click on the 'Preview' button on the 'Review and Submit - Review your AIS' page of the 2019 AIS.

To submit your 2019 AIS, complete the declaration on the last page of the online form, and then click the 'Submit' button in the bottom right-hand corner. Ensure you click on the 'Submit' button - if you do not do so, we will not receive your 2019 AIS.
