When you log in to the Charity Portal, each charity for which you are a Responsible Person or an Authorised Person should appear in a list under the heading ‘My charities’.

If a charity is missing from the list, this is easy to resolve.

To resolve it, first you need to figure out if you are listed as a Responsible Person for the charity or if you are listed an Authorised Person.

To see if you are listed as a Responsible Person: check the charity’s Responsible People listed on the ACNC Charity Register.

To see if you are listed as an Authorised Person: have one of the charity’s Responsible People check the charity’s record in the Charity Portal (this is because the Authorised Person isn’t noted on the charity’s public Charity Register record).

Once you know if you are listed as a Responsible Person or Authorised Person, click the description for instructions on what to do:

You will need to have one of your charity’s Responsible People add you as a Responsible Person.

They can do this easily by filling out the ‘Add Responsible Person’ form in the Charity Portal.

When they fill out the form, they need to make sure the email address they use for your record is the same one that you used to create your Charity Portal account.

Remember – a Responsible Person is someone responsible for the governance of the charity, such as a member of the committee or board.

We will need to add the charity to your Charity Portal account.

Using the charity’s Address For Service email account (this will be listed on the Charity Register record), send an email to advice@acnc.gov.au with these details:

  • your full name
  • the email address you used to create your Charity Portal account
  • charity name
  • charity ABN

We can then add the charity to your Charity Portal account.
