Summary of activities

Through training local services and volunteers, Health Communication Resources (HCR) Inc. empowers community members to use community media to address local health and social issues. By focusing on local people and developing grass roots strategies, local people are empowered to be active members and key voices in the solutions. The power of one voice can be critical in positively changing communities. We have projects in the Mid West, Western Australia focusing on key health and social issues including (but not limited to), mental health, suicide prevention, alcohol and other drugs, family violence, and local language and cultural preservation. We also support projects in marginalised communities around the world including Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Kenya and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
