Summary of activities
During 2019 / 2020, TAMS provided support for patients with Mastocytosis and Mast Cell Activation Disorders and their families/ friends through an education conference held in Canberra with keynote speakers from the fields of immunology, dermatology and nutrition. Our Chair (on his own expense) attended (on invitation) the European Competency Network meeting of specialists and researchers focused on sharing new learning about Mastocytosis and MCAS. When Covid struck, we took our support online hosting monthly Zoom patient support meetings, we networked with other similar groups across the globe to create a stronger alliance for sharing knowledge and support and we prepared for our first patient survey to kickstart our goal of research into these rare health conditions. We continue to answer numerous calls and emails seeking direction for diagnosis and also for support.
