Summary of activities

BMBAN worked throughout the reporting period to provide a variety of services to its members, adapting those services in early 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic demanded immediate and fundamental changes to the way BMBAN operated and the support we were able to provide our members. We continued to provide services and support to our members including: - Regular playgroups, including Multiple Mayhem (catering for children up to school age), All Ages Playgroup through My First Gym, North Lakes and regular playgroups at Lollipops Playland. These playgroups continued throughout the relevant period, aside from temporary suspensions in these activities during the height of COVID-19 restrictions; - Our extremely popular Family Train Day event in September 2019 (a regularly sold-out event) which gave our member families exclusive access to QSMEE Museum; - Another popular and incredibly useful event is our Clothes Swaps, with our most recent one occurring in December 2019. Our member families are given free access to clothing and equipment donated by members. In addition, due to overwhelming donations we have opened up this event to members of the public, offering the opportunity for attendees to fill a bag for a small donation. This provides not only a great service for general members of the community in need of baby & child goods / equipment, but also a revenue-raising opportunity for BMBAN. We generally aim to run these events twice per year (outside of current COVID-19 limitations); - Family end of year celebration at Lollipops Playland in December 2019; - Multiple Birth Awareness Week BBQ / family celebration in March 2020; - Bumps, Bubs & Beyond social catch-ups throughout the reporting period (transitioning from in-person to virtual delivery during restrictions); - Continued provision of our extremely popular Expectant Parents' Night / Information Sessions through a combination of in-person events and virtual sessions combined with comprehensive written materials provided to participants. These sessions are provided on a bi-monthly basis and are an invaluable resource for expectant parents; - Masterclasses on topics of interest to our member families, including a Sleep & Settling Masterclass (July 2019) and a presentation on Fussy Eaters (May 2020); - During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic we engaged member families in a variety of virtual catch-up sessions, including afternoon dance parties for the children, online Masterclass sessions, as well as general Coffee Catch-ups and similar type events, held generally on a weekly basis throughout the height of restrictions and facilitated via Zoom; - Continued publication of our member Newsletter "Multiple Cuddles & Chaos" on a bi-monthly basis. - Expansion of our social media platforms and member-only social media platforms and further engagement with our member families through online / virtual means, which is a continuing project.
