Summary of activities
In the last financial year the Leukaemia Foundation of Australia has provided a range of free support services including accommodation, counselling, education, transportation to medical appointments, and practical and financial assistance.Due to the often acute nature of blood cancers, rural and regional patients are forced to leave their homes and move immediately to treating hospitals for many months of grueling treatment. We supported patients and families by providing advice and counselling including workshops andnewsletters on specific diseases; patient transport vehicles assisted thousands of patients. We provided funding for medical research projects to improve treatments and hopefully acure for these diseases. For more information see our Annual Report athttp://www.leukaemia.org.au/about-us/annual-reports
